On October 8-10, Kalihi Valley Instructional Bike Exchange (KVIBE) staff and interns as well as other Youth Services team members joined in on a retreat. It was a few days full of relaxation and companionship on Oahu’s North Shore.

The theme of the retreat was to create a better understanding of the expectations of KVIBE interns and to build a stronger relationship with each other. They took part in many group activities surrounding their accords: mutual respect, self-care, take your own inventory, share the road, confidential, no capping, and keep the same frame. They discussed expectations and safety rules while in the KVIBE shop. Senior interns expressed how they are aiming to be better role models for junior interns and mentees. The group also took part in a beach clean-up and daily aloha and mahalo circles.

But they also had a lot of fun! They held a scavenger hunt, relay races, teamwork activities, musical performances, swam in the pool, had a movie night, played card games and had a pickleball tournament.
We want to say a big mahalo to the Chapman ʻOhana for allowing KVIBE to stay on their beautiful property!
