The Echoes of Oceania

KKV’s own Innocenta Sound-Kikku (pictured above with illustrator Lissette Yamase) authored two books featuring traditional Micronesian storytelling. The books were read at a public launch back in October at Kaluaopalena, our community garden at Kuhio Park Terrace public housing development.

It is with deep appreciation and a bit of sadness that we bid farewell to long time KKV staff member, Amenina Opet. For the past 12 years, Amenina has worked as an Outreach Counselor helping countless people in the community. We will miss you Amenina!

WE Are Kalihi

Community members banded together for the WE Are Kalihi Unity Walk and Celebration. The event was a way to showcase all the good going on in Kalihi and to spark other community initiatives in Hawaii.
