Since the inception of Kokua Kalihi Valley Comprehensive Family Services, an important and integral service has been Eligibility assistance for patients residing in the geographic parameters of Kalihi Valley, as defined. Obviously, the programs and services have been modified and upgraded over the years to address the needs of the population, yet the basic issue has and will always be providing services to the uninsured patients with medical, dental, and other health requirements.

Your Eligibility and Outreach teams provide assistance to outpatients and clients through the government programs inclusive of MedQUEST, MEDICAID, State Subsidies programs, i.e. AFDC, GA, SF, Foodstamps, Hawaii Immigrant Health Initiative, the VA Health Plan at Spartk M. Matsunaga VA Medical Center at Tripler, various Health Plans by interfacing with the application process and case management, on behalf of our patients/clientele base.

Further, representation by your team, provides assistance with Social Security Administration, Medicare, Department of Community Services, Section 8 Housing Assistance Payment Program, State of Hawaii Housing and Community Development Corporation of Hawaii (HCDCH) Applications, CSEA, Judicial Hearings, Schools and Private Agencies Services.

Presently, we are working on a relationship with INS - Immigration and Naturalization Services, nka USCIS - United States Citizenship and Immigration Service - for future assistance with inquiries on immigration matters.

Finally, we have been privileged to participate in the Mentoring Program developed by the Hawaii Primary Care Association by interfacing with the Community Clinic of Maui to develop ongoing professional relationships and operational exchanges.
