Help Plan the 100 acre
Nature Park in Kalihi Valley
!
Dear Neighbor,

At the top of Kalihi Street, past the last wooden bridge, lies a 100-acre state park that has never been developed.

For more than 25 years, some of your neighbors and community leaders have been petitioning the state and city to make this land a quiet nature preserve for environmental education, recreation and the preservation of Hawaiian culture. But money was never budgeted to create the Kalihi Valley Park and today it remains unused and covered by jungle.

Now, Kokua Kalihi Valley (KKV), a non-profit community based organization, has volunteered to make the park a reality. The State has approved a 20-year lease of this public land to KKV. We ask for your help to make sure that the design of this beautiful site will meet your needs and consider your concerns.

Please take a look at the planning map inside this flier and the list of possible uses and issues on the back page. Please share your ideas and thoughts with us!

Aloha!
KKV
